The other day I got a flat tire on my car. I had just finished a beautiful long walk along Hansen Road. I was hungry, cold and in need of a shower as I returned to my car while the sun was just setting. Without paying any attention I hurriedly got in my car. I drove about five feet when the tire pressure light started flashing and I felt something thud on the rear left side of my car.
Flat tire. No problem, I can change the tire, it should be easy right?
I got all the gear I thought I needed out of the rear of my car. I set up my lights, it was dusk now, put on extra layers of clothes and jacked up the left rear side of my car. Now to take the flat tire off. I tried unscrewing the bolts with my fingers but that wasn’t working, I kept trying and trying and ended up with bloody knuckles from banging them around on metal when my fingers slipped off the bolts.
I had a screw driver in my glove compartment so I tried popping the screws off that way. Nope, that didn’t work either but I did cut myself when I banged my forearm on the wheel well. Then I tried pulling the tire off completely, bypassing the bolts all together which led me to falling backwards on my tailbone when the tire refused to budge.
My knuckles were bloody, my hands sore, forearm cut and bleeding and now my tailbone was throbbing with pain. I kicked the tire repeatedly. Right. That didn’t work either.
Cold. Tired. Hungry. Bloody. Irritated and overwhelmed with all the stress of having a flat tire and not being able to change it I suddenly remembered that I have AAA.
Why hadn’t I called them in the first place? I own the service. They are the professionals to help me change my tire, why was I struggling so much?
Within eight minutes of my placing the call to AAA the truck arrived and the AAA guy popped out to change my tire.
What did he do first? He lowered my car and showed me how to unscrew the bolts off of my tire by using my jack! I had the tool all along and had either forgotten (overloaded by all the stressors of the situation) how to use the tool I already possessed or never really knew how to use the tool in the first place.
Are you wondering why I told you this long drawn out story about the AAA guy and my flat tire?
Imagine if you have a goal (change a flat tire) that you just can’t seem to reach. You have tried various ways and means and nothing seems to be working. All your efforts are leaving you irritated, hurt and more stressed about what to do.
Maybe you already have the most powerful tool in your possession (the jack) to unlock the roadblock to reaching your goal. And perhaps you have forgotten how to use the tool or never really knew how to use it at all.
Hypnotherapy (AAA guy) is the most powerful tool you may already have in your trunk which may help you achieve your goals more quickly and efficiently.
What does a hypnotherapist do first? They lower your stress level and show you how to unscrew the bolts off of your goal by using your mind with the most powerful tool of hypnosis!
You have the tool all along and have either forgotten (from all the stressors of the situation) how to use the tool you already possessed or never really knew how to use the tool in the first place.
